Details of the issue: 1st time it crashed when I was trying to kill pig with hat, then alvays when I launched save, client crashed. I have no idea what can it be . . . I don't know how to read crash report, or how to solve it with that. Thanks for help.

Details of Problem: Hi folks.

As of the last few days I've been having multiple download-related problems with the Feed The Beast launcher.

Problem 1 - updating a currently installed modpack or installing a new modpack.

I currently have FTB Infinity Evolved installed, which has an update ready for me to install. However, whenever I hit "Update", the "Downloading modpack... Please wait" window pops up and makes no progress, while the console window behind it displays this error:

Error while downloading modpack: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out
Resuming download from offset 2256
Resume started sucesfully

Which repeats over and over again with an increasingly high offset number. The same error occurs when I try to install a new modpack, namely FTB Horizons (I am keen to try out Archimedes ship building :P).

While the "Downloading modpack... Please wait" window is up I am unable to close the launcher or console or access the "Upload log" button in the console. If I close the download window I can access the other FTB windows again but still cannot close them or press the "Upload log" button, hence my lack of link to a log above. I then have to forcibly close the program through Task Manager.

After trying a few times to see if it was merely network issues on my end, I decided that perhaps it was due to the launcher update that was also ready but not yet installed, leading to my second discovery.

Problem 2 - updating the launcher

I am also currently unable to update the launcher! Whenever I hit update in the pop-up window, nothing happens. The console displays no activity, and none of the buttons on either the console or the launcher itself do anything. Again I am unable to close the windows and have to forcibly close the program.

So I thought to myself, perhaps I should just download the latest version of the launcher from the FTB website and start from scratch! Which leads to problem three.

Problem 3 - downloading the launcher

So when I go to the FTB website and try to download the launcher itself, again, nothing happens. The download tab pops up at the bottom (I use Chrome) and then it just sits there saying "Starting..." for a while before saying "Failed - Network error."

So there's obviously something going very wrong between my computer and the FTB host. I've tried disabling anti-virus to see if that was blocking the site and the launcher for some reason, but nothing changed. I don't want to delete my current FTB install until I am able to redownload the launcher, as I am still able to play FTB Infinity Evolved, just not quite on the latest version. I've tried changing the download host in the Advanced Settings in the launcher but to no avail, and I've also tried it with the "Force update" button clicked.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I have the same issue on 2.1.2. It was also present in v 2.0.2 but way less prominent.

For me the intensity and frequency of the freezes change with my render distance.
On 4 it's either not there or so short i dont notice it. On 16 it's pretty much unbearable.

So for now I downgraded back to 2.0.2

Hi all,
There are 2 assets in the each modpack that doesnt want to be downloaded..
this one :org/scala-lang/scala-swing_2.11/1.0.1/scala-swing_2.11-1.0.1.jar .
And this one, org/scala-lang/scala-xml_2.11/1.0.2/scala-xml_2.11-1.0.2.jar
I tried the link and it did download it to download folder, and then i have put it in the right folder, which have made huge errors on lunch of the mods which need those assets.

Cannot download server from FTB launcher

Modpack Version: 1.7.10

Description of issue: I am trying to create a Direwolf20 server for some friends and I to play on. I successfully downloaded the FTB launcher, however, when I select Direwolf20 and then click Download Server at the top of the launcher, I get an ERROR! message that says, "Server file for selected version was not found on the server".

If anyone could help me out with this, I would be very appreciative.

I got a new computer recently and when I ran FTB, my game ran at an average of 0 fps even at minimum settings or when on the title screen. My computer has 64 bit java, an i5 processor 8 gigs of RAM, and I've run it on an older computer, so the specs should be fine. This has happened to me on multiple different modpacks, including magic world 2 and departed. I found nothing helpful online, and I've tried reinstalling FTB and java multiple times after deleting them. Any help would be amazing :smile: I put my log on pastebin at http://pastebin.com/gG2gsLTH
